Not really a Jackal
Here are some examples of digital project work, including project management, design and copy writing.
I created the brand identity and website for the new human-rights charity Room2Heal.
I helped to articulate the values and ethos, and shape the Room2Heal brand from scratch. This included developing the logo and visual identity, written material, the website and printed materials.
I have worked with Room2Heal since the start, when it was a glint in the eye of its founder.
The organisation is now established and proven, with funders including Comic Relief and there are plans for future expansion and development.
Room2Heal is a healing community that works to improve the lives of people in acute need.
The client group is made up of asylum seekers or refugees, suffering from a range of trauma-related psychological and health problems. The organisation is innovative, and works by forging links between clients so that they support each other and create a community. As well as being extremely cost-efficient compared with more conventional approaches to tackling recovery, it is also devastatingly effective.
This is what the Director of Room2Heal had to say about my work:
'Richard has provided his time and expertise on a pro bono basis to Room2Heal since our organisation's inception in 2007. Richard has superlative design management and support skills, produces superb materials and is a real grafter. I would recommend him highly.'
Mark Fish, Director, Room2Heal.
I have worked on a wide variety of digital projects, including E-learning and multi-media, micro-sites and email.
My experience includes commissioning online games, project managing SEO and Usability testing to ensure good user experience, and effective brand promotion. Get in touch to find out more.
I created a website for my local Thatcher, Chris. I designed the site and wrote all the content. I manage it including SEO and analytics.
This is what he had to say about it:
I struck a deal with my local Natural Healing Centre. They give me acupuncture and in exchange I sort out their website and advertising.
I'm responsible for developing the whole user-journey, including design, information architecture and writing the content. Visit the Natural Healting test site.
At Shelter, I was responsible for signing off website design. The main Shelter site was re-designed with an emphasis on developing good Usability. During my time at Shelter the website received £3m funding from the Vodafone Foundation and was able to grow to become the UK's leading housing advice portal, with an impressive hit rate. At Forster it was my job to project manage the re-development of the agency's own website. We used Plone, an open source content management system, allowing fairly complex realtionsips between different bits of site content. Visit the Forster website,
